LINDA McCUBBIN HOPGOOD, a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a 1979 Suma Cum Laude graduate of Western Kentucky University where she was a Scholar of the University of Business & Public Affairs. She is a 1982 graduate of the University of Kentucky, College of Law where she was a member of the Moot Court Board. She has returned to the College of Law as an adjunct professor of legal research and writing, as well as a frequent lecturer on arbitrations and mediations.

Ms. Hopgood received her mediation training and accreditation in 1992 in Knoxville, Tennessee through the US Arbitration and Mediation Association. Since receiving her training she has successfully mediated over 7,500 cases.

Since 1994, Ms. Hopgood has been the head of her own firm and specializes in personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability cases, mediations and arbitrations.

She has served as Chair of the Kentucky House of Delegates, as a member of the Executive Committee of the Kentucky Board of Governors, and as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Lexington School. She is currently a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Fayette County Bar Association Board of Directors and Baptist Health Lexington Board of Directors.

Ms. Hopgood’s multimillion dollar success in the Courtroom against automobile manufacturers, and her success in defending physicians have given her the practical experience as well as the insight to become a well-known settlement resource for many judges and lawyers throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia & Indiana.

Mediation

Ms. Hopgood utilizes her 30 years of experience in the legal profession to assist individuals involved in litigation in resolving their differences prior to trial. She provides offices equipped with multimedia technology to aid the individuals and their attorneys in presenting their story. Mediations are conducted in a professional and confidential setting and are scheduled for either half day or full day.

Arbitration

Arbitrations are conducted according to the rules of the American Arbitration Association, unless agreed upon by the parties to the litigation. Multimedia services are provided along with court reporting services upon request. All arbitrations are conducted in a confidential setting.

Litigation

Ms. Hopgood has continuously litigated since she was licensed in 1984 and she is on your team from the time the suit is filed until the matter is resolved. She concentrates in the area of personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse. She has successfully represented clients against auto manufacturers resulting in multi million dollar settlements and trial verdicts. She represented the parents and estate of a teenager killed in a roll-over accident resulting in a $20 Million verdict of which her client was awarded in excess of $6.75 Million.

Linda McCubbin Hopgood is a well sought after lecturer for the Fayette County Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association. She has served as a mentor to mediators seeking accreditation through the Administrative Office of the Courts.
Ms. Hopgood received her mediation training and accreditation in 1992 in Knoxville, TN. She was one of the first mediators in Kentucky.
